In 2023, we completed this beautiful garden transformation for a client who wanted an inviting space to enjoy from their dining room all year round; a place for family to relax and spend quality time together.

Over seven weeks, the space was transformed into a tranquil, contemporary garden centred around elegant circular steps, defined with weathered steel edging and paved in richly textured Indian Sandstone. A pond forms the heart of the design, enclosed by hand-built stone walling. The planting features Stipa tenuissima, Erigeron karvinskianus and Sedum matrona, bringing movement and colour through the seasons.

At the centre of the pond sits a beautifully weathered millstone, thoughtfully repurposed as a water feature. Its gentle movement and soft sound bring life and atmosphere to the space, while the pond itself now supports fish and aquatic planting, adding depth, biodiversity and year‑round interest.

The surrounding planting has been carefully selected to enhance the traditional feel of the garden, offering colour, texture and seasonal variation without overwhelming the space. A collection of old stone pots complete the composition, their patina and form echoing the timeless feeling of the wider design.

This project is a testament to how careful craftsmanship and thoughtful design can create a garden full of character and tranquility. We are so happy with this project and enjoy watching it develop as our team maintain it.
